For all that encounter problems (crashes, errors and so on) during usage of Better Explorer: please when you report problems on this website, attach the log file (located in [Better Explorer install dir]\Log.txt ). Without it, we can’t help you to solve your problem! Thanks!

I use a 2TB Drive from Lacie to keep my backups and archive of files I like to keep around which is networked as a private Lan segment between. This of course is part of the drives security to deny access without correct user credentials. I just happened to have used BE on my LaCie network drive prior to a reboot. When I restarted BE, it of course tried to attach to LaCie network before I had an opportunity to re-login with user ID and password. This caused BE to lock up and freeze my laptop as well. I assume that BE is in a tight loop waiting for the network drive to become available and advertise itself to Windows 7 as a network rresource My question I guess is, should BE error recovery on a network drive simple quickly release the drive faster if a socket cannot be established ? What appears to happen presently is BE will freeze until all resources on the laptop are exhausted and then crash. I know you wanted log file, but I can't attach it.

I prefer this “Better Explorer” and wish to use it all the time, but, when I create a folder and send to my desktop, then if I reopened the folder, the display is of the original explorer, and not with the ribbon.
Could this be something I am doing wrong??

Hello,
please make sure to select “make Better Explorer Default viewer” under File/Oprions/Shell/.
under windows 7 the icon for your program appears on the computer at first but when the computer is restarted it disappears and you only have a blank windows icon visual – the program does work when you click on the generic icon but, as said, yours disappears?
Hello,
please report this at our bugtracker ( http://bugtracker.better-explorer.com/ ) ,
thanks.
